From No Place to Home
Great Plains Quarterly
I am an author of fiction, nonfiction and children's picture books with a background as an editor, researcher, and communications consultant—both freelance and in roles with international NGOs and arts organisations. Since completing my MA in creative writing at Concordia University in Montréal, I have published two works of fiction for adults. The Western Home is a collection of short stories about the American folk song "Home on the Range," and White Elephant is a novel about a Canadian family living in Sierra Leone during the civil war. I am currently working on a novel set in the Czech Republic, and my first co-authored children's picture book is forthcoming from Duck Creek Press.
As a writing coach, I offer personalised support and guidance to writers at every stage of a writing project, from concept to completion. I also offer group workshops and facilitate writing programmes in libraries and schools. Contact me for details.
